Storymine is an award-winning social enterprise based in the heart of rural Shropshire. Directors Emma and Peter Summers are a creative partnership who are passionate about offering communities the opportunity to engage in high-quality arts activities. Emma and Peter love working in non-art spaces, breaking down barriers about what art is and who can participate. They create, perform and share artistic works that entertain, inspire, educate and inform. They use fairy tales, folk stories, global myths and cultural legends as the inspiration for the development of their work. They create films, installations, performances and exhibitions which engage with and raise awareness of issues faced by communities across the UK. Storymine is an Arts Award Centre and Emma and Peter are both Arts Award Advisors. They are committed to developing opportunities for communities to engage with the arts.

Emma and Peter have decades of experience working with communities and organisations on a huge range of arts projects. Partnerships they have developed include the Red Cross, Christian Aid, Medical Teams International, Partners Relief and Development, Internuncio, the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies and Health and Nutritional Development Services. These projects were funded through a number of streams, including the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association, the British Council, the Arts Council, the Film Council and numerous trusts and foundations. They also have extensive experience working with arts organisations in the UK and beyond, including the MAC Birmingham, Triskel Art Gallery Cork, the Sanskriti Foundation Delhi, Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Battersea Arts Centre and the ICA London and Chiang Mai University, Thailand.
